In Sept 2003, the court of TN ordered Mr Ranganathan to buy Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography, My Experiment with the Truth. Read it... & prove it. The judge ordered Mr Rang Nathan a senior opposition member from the city of Chennai must familiarize himself with the great pacifist's writings, so that he could reform himself and serve his constituents more effectively. Mr Ranganathan has been accused of threatening another person in a land dispute. Ranganathan told the court he had finished reading the first 56 pages of the 560-page autobiography. Why not such order to present Gandhis?

RAMESWARAM: About one lakh devotees gathered at the 'Agni theertham' and Dhanushkodi near here to offer worship to their forefathers on the auspicious 'Mahalaya Amavasya' day on Oct 11.The coastal areas in Kanyakumari, banks of the Cauvery, Papanasam, Thirubhuvanam and Tamirabharani river ghats at Tiruchirappalli were also crowded with people gathering to offer prayers to their forefathers.Mahalaya Amavasya day is considered auspicious for offering prayers.
Special feast would also be offered to the forefathers on the auspicious day.
