Drama of US through China
In local language we say that in politics there is no friend or enemy permanently. This is 200% true in the world politics also. Rightist Congress rules India with the support of Leftist communist parties of India. US wants to play its roll in Myanmar through China which itself is accountable for the crisis. Myanar disturbances show again the powerless authority of UN and ASEAN. This is not new phenomenon.
European Countries treated western cultured Pt Nehru their favorable leader in India. Half cabinet minister of Pt Nehru was ‘cardholder comrades’. Krishna Menon was big name in those. CPI gave full support to the emergency of Indira Gandhi. Pt Nehru shook hands with Stalin to remove Subhash Bose from his way. Death of Netaji is still a mystery. Indira Gandhi was a dumb doll for Russia. Now the main poles of world China and America are projecting Sonia and his son for their countries interest.

Taipei rightly said in its editorial that China is accountable for Myanmar because China is the unofficial main parner of Junta in Myanmar. China is Myanmar's UN Security Council protector and patron..
One fundamental reason why China will not transform the style of Myanmar's government is that Beijing uses the same methods to control its own population. China has deployed troops against its own unarmed civilians before, and will do so again if corresponding circumstances present themselves.
It is also important to note that a genuinely democratic Myanmar would jeopardize Chinese interests in Southeast Asia.

Chinese aid to Myanmar was officially reported as $100 million in 2005. Unofficial estimates for assistance over the past decade run into the billions. India is said to be building up its aid to offset Beijing's influence.
According to most estimates, the black economy matches its official counterpart. Consumer goods are smuggled in from China and Thailand. Teak, gems, people and drugs are smuggled out.
The backbone of the opium-producing "Golden Triangle", Myanmar is the world's second-largest producer of heroin after Afghanistan.
Officially, only 21,500 hectares (53,000 acres) were cultivated in 2006. Heroin goes mainly to China and Pacific rim countries such as Australia.
As opium and heroin have tailed off, production and trafficking of amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) has shot up, causing tension with Thailand.
According to the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, 19.5 million ATS pills were seized in Myanmar in 2006 out of 40 million seized in the whole of Asia.
1.5 million tonnes of timber, most of it famed Burmese teak, worth $350 million was shipped to China in 2005
Myanmar is a source for the trafficking of women, children and men for forced labour and the commercial sex trade, predominantly into Thailand, but also China and Malaysia. People’s movement of 1988 and now in Myanmar
