UNICEF ambassador on HIV/AIDS did unprotected sex in sky and land both:
As reported at ‘Expressindia.com’: The hot story that British tabloids are screaming about was set not just several miles high in the sky but on the ground in Mumbai as well. Ralph Fiennes, British film star and UNICEF ambassador who was on an HIV/AIDS mission to India late last month, invited Lisa Robertson, a Quantas stewardess to his hotel room in Mumbai as soon as she checked into Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt, reported The Daily Mail

Robertson’s claims that Fiennes, 44, not only had unprotected sex with her on board the flight from Darwin to Mumbai, but followed it up with a rendezvous are threatening to overshadow Fiennes’s reputation as a respected and intellectual actor. The irony is, Fiennes was traveling to India to raise HIV awareness and to help promote safe sex.

While in India, he told British news program ITN: “If I can use my celebrity status to raise awareness for something worthwhile such as this, then it’s worth it.”
For all the angst-ridden roles he plays as the tragic hero, the real-life events overtaking Fiennes are of a less literary and intellectual nature. He is believed to have now lashed out at the press and via his press agent indicated that it was Robertson who was the sexual predator.

It is not cool to rape
We have to educate people that it is not cool to rape, not just because of the brutality of the crime, but because it spreads HIV/AIDS too. ...www.unicef.org.uk/press/news_detail.asp?news_id=468

“No Condom, No Sex”
As reported on Jan 11, Hollywood star Richard Gere cheered on thousands of Indian prostitutes dancing to raunchy Bollywood songs yesterday and urged them to refuse sex without condoms to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. "No condom, no sex. No condom, no sex. No condom, no sex," Gere hollered into a microphone as about 10,000 prostitutes gathered at a dusty Mumbai fairground joined him in chorus. This is good for 100% prostitutes.

“Goodwill ambassador is more difficult than an actor”: Jackie Chan
Jackie sings the refrain of the Vietnamese song "This World Is Ours." "Before I didn't like charity. I just wanted to be famous and to earn more money," said Chan. "My friends taught me and now I like to do charity. Even when I am sleeping, I think how I can help other people. Every human being has to learn how to do charity."
He also joked: "(Being) a goodwill ambassador is more difficult than an actor. As an actor, if I do something wrong, I will do it again. Being an ambassador, I cannot do something wrong. Everything is new to me."

Interviewing celebrities, why don’t cameras go into the villages?
Having Angelina Jolie actress talk about refugees puts more eyeballs on TV’. Madonna dissed Angelina a while ago by saying she could have done all the charity Angelina does, but that doesn’t actually help! She said to Time “Look, I could have joined the U.N. and become an ambassador and visited various countries and just kind of showed up and smiled and looked concerned. But that’s not getting to the root of the problem.”

Ms Verjee said that celebrities were now an integral part of the way that important stories are told. ‘It isn’t great, no - I think it’s awful, frankly - but it does help to raise awareness’ she added. The media has come under intense criticism at the World Urban Forum, with many speakers expressing anger or disappointment that what they see as hugely important problems facing the planet are not getting enough exposure. There was a big ovation for a speaker from the floor who said that ‘instead of interviewing celebrities, I would like to see your cameras going into the villages of Africa and focusing attention on them’.

First recognized cases of AIDS occurred in the USA
Ramdev Baba has rightly said that USA and other European countries have spread the HIV/AIDS in India.

The origin of AIDS and HIV has puzzled scientists ever since the illness first came to light in the early 1980s. For over twenty years it has been the subject of fierce debate and the cause of countless arguments, with everything from a promiscuous flight attendant to a suspect vaccine program being blamed. So what is the truth? Just where did AIDS come from?

The first recognized cases of AIDS occurred in the USA in the early 1980s (more about this period can be found on our history page). A number of gay men in New York and San Francisco suddenly began to develop rare opportunistic infections and cancers that seemed stubbornly resistant to any treatment. At this time, AIDS did not yet have a name, but it quickly became obvious that all the men were suffering from a common syndrome. The discovery of HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus that causes AIDS was made soon after.

Botswana hardest hit country by AIDS
Botswana, an African country is among the countries hardest hit by AIDS. In 2005 there were an estimated 270,000 people living with HIV. This, in a country with a total population below two million, gives Botswana an adult HIV prevalence rate of 24.1%, the second highest in the world after Swaziland. (An earlier UNAIDS estimate of 37.3% prevalence in Botswana is now thought to have been too high.)

Mpule Kwelagobe, 1999 Miss Universe from Botswana, was appointed UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador in 1999 as a special advocate on the issue of HIV/AIDS

Christian missionaries and HIV
Durojaiye: “Once a television service cooperation in Nigeria refused to allow the Ambasadors of Hope Mission participants (people living with HIV/AIDS) to enter the television house for a programmed event for recording and broadcasting”.

Femi Soyinka: “I recall the case of a lady living with HIV who was relieved of her duty as a Sunday school teacher in the Children’s Department in church because the parents fear that their children could be infected.”

It is alleged that Christian Missonaries are also responsible to spread AIDS in developing countries as India and poor African countries. So many Church fathers face rape allegations.

Condoms in Class VII school bags
As reported by TOI on Dec 3, 2004: Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister M Satyanarayana Rao insists he's dead serious when he says condoms ought to be distributed with textbooks to students of Class VII and above. Satyanarayana Rao, who recently represented the state at an international AIDS conference in Bangkok, opted to push his thesis further. "The scheme should be implemented vigorously in towns and villages. Children can keep the condoms in their school bags... Remember, the spread of AIDS is more widespread in villages." Well aware that his suggestion wouldn't go down too well with parents and school authorities, he said: "I know this will be construed as some sort of blasphemy. "After all, I'm endowments minister and deal with temples. But we need to understand why in countries like the US the incidence of AIDS is less than in India, even though pre-marital sex is more common there... Everyone carries a condom there." "Only Class IX students ought to be educated on condom use, not given condoms. If these are supplied, would it mean students would have to use them as well?" T V Reddy, principal of Saint Peter's Grammar School, wondered.
Baba Ramdev opinion on AIDS and Condom
Baba Ramdev has said that yoga can cure AIDS. He is also reported to have claimed that AIDS cannot be prevented by using condoms. Yoga and regular exercise help people, including those who are HIV positive, to be healthier… suggestion by Baba Ramdev suggested to do away with sex education. ON THE yoga camp in MP, Baba Ramdev exhorted youth to stay away from drugs and passion and instead return to prayers for the prosperity of the country. Disapproving AIDS and sex education program, the Yoga Guru also advised the young generation to use restrain, not condom. Propagating ‘sexual misconduct’ could not contain the AIDS, he said, adding, the disease could be only contained through practice of Yoga.
Prominent among those present at the camp included MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh’s wife Sadhna, State BJP vice-president Anil Dave, BDA chairman Dhruv Narayan Singh, MP Minorities Commission chairman Mohammad Anwar, Rameshwar Sharma, Alok Sharma, Vishwas Sarang, Kailash Mishra, Vidhan Sabha principal secretary AK Pyasi and others.

Hindu editor insulted ‘Shiva’
A monthly periodical called 'Just another Magazine (JAM)', a picture of lord Shiva has been used for creating awareness among people about AIDS. On the last page of this periodical issue Nov 30- Dec 15, there is a picture of a Lord Shiva under which it is written that 'Khada hai to Condom hai.'

This magazine is published by Rashmi Bansal. Being a woman and a Hindu she and her team dare to publish such an objection matter. It is not a small advertisement. It is big advertisement in the last page of the magazine with photo of ‘Shiv ling’ with condom.

Condom ads during cricket match
Sony Television's standards have stooped to all time low standards. Now they are taking money from condom manufacturers to show their ads during daytime. Why isn't the ministry of Information and Broadcasting doing something to stop this?
