Modi met AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa over lunch at her Poes Garden residence at the time of lhis Chennai trip. He prepared ground for the BJP’s alliance with Jayalalitha for the next general election 2009.

After that on Jan 20 Narendra Moci launched the Maharashtra BJP’s campaign for the 2009 assembly polls. For this purpose he jumped at historic Shivaji Park to position himself on the nation’s centre-stage. After the historical victory of Gujarat Modi demonstrated that he had well outgrown Gujarat by launching a political attack against the Congress and the UPA government.

In his speech at Shivaji Park, he gave broad hints of BJP’s agenda for the next general election 2009: (1) Development and good governance (2) Security of the nation and the people

What is the meaning of development in Gujarat? Sharad Pawar answered to Shekhar Gupta. What is the meaning of ‘Merchant of death’? Cho Ramaswamy has explained in Kamraj hall.

Gujarat becomes the laboratory of above winning formulas

This is the heart winning way which he showed at the time of his election as a leader for which width of his chest would become wide. Due to this he comes automatically in the centre stage of the party and politics of the nation. He throws arrows of nationalism means Hinduism on the top leadership of Congress and forces them to stand on wrong foot.

“My opponents have failed to read the Gujarat verdict. I don’t mind my opponents criticizing me. I would protect their right to criticize me. But I will not tolerate criticism of Gujarat people. My victory is being now blamed on Gujarat voters. This will not be accepted,” he warned at ‘Shivaji Park.

Modi’s development work Hindutva and ability to block terrorism returns third time Chief Ministership to him. He is not asking a space in the centre leadership of BJP.

“For almost five decades, the country had an established political ideology created by some vested interests. This ideology held that good governance is bad politics, that it can’t win elections. Another view was that development cannot fetch votes. I decided to challenge this established ideology. The Gujarat verdict demonstrates that good governance is also good politics, that performance, not populist promises, wins you elections. This is a message to all governments in the country,” Modi said in his speech at Shivaji Park..

<thechhattisgarh.com> reported on Jan 16: Chhattisgarh's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has smothered the state's 15 cities with saffron flags and banners on the eve of the launch a scheme to provide rice at Rs.3 a kg to 3.4 million poor families,” After that former CM od Chh’garh Ajit Joi said that Congress would provide Rs 2/kg rice if it win. He did not explain why he could not provide the same in his Chief Ministerial period. .
Now Mayawati on Jan 19 at Raipur promised that he will give 3 care land free to every poor. Why does she not give the same in Uttar Pradesh?

“Mr Deshmukh made lot many promises in Gujarat. But Gujarat did not give any chance to the Congress. What stops Mr Deshmukh from implementing at least some promises in Maharashtra?” Mr Modi asked, to a roaring applause from the huge crowd gathered at Shivaji Park of Mumbai to hear him.
